EXCELLENT Based on 207 reviews Trail65791317. December, 2024.Verified Great place to stay! Great place to stay. Beautiful location on the edge of Queenstown, near Shotover Bridge. You can walk out the front door for a ramble over the historic bridge and then up into the forest. Very comfortable house, with a lovely kitchen for the use of guests, should you wish to take a break from restaurants on your travels. Excellent cooked breakfast, with plenty of choice. Laundry facilities should you need them. Mitzi and Dan are very hospitable folks, and only too happy to put their local knowledge at your disposal. They keep silkies, ducks and Guinea pigs in the back garden, which are the source of much amusement, and the front garden is a riot of lovely roses. We were there two nights, and would happily have spent more. Excellent hospitality! sascot12. December, 2024.Verified A complete gem This historical building run by Dan and Mitzi is an absolute treasure. Not only for its history, which is evident all around the walls but for the hosts. There are only three rooms, which provide every comfort but as soon as you walk in through the door, you feel as you've known your hosts for years. Breakfast is provided but there is a super well equipped kitchen where you can produce your own dinner - clean up after !. We did and shared it with one of the other guests. It's that kind of a place. Dan came to our aid with arrangements on a number of occasions - it's this kind of personal service that makes the Ferry what it is. If you want the buzz of heavily touristic Queenstown then the Ferry is outside Queenstown, overlooking the Shotover River and the famous bridge. With the traffic, which is considerable, allow 30 mins, especially coming back although it's not actually far. We were genuinely sorry to have to leave. Scenic4291924179311. December, 2024.Verified Best Queenstown NZ area B and B ❣️imaginable My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in NZ and booked 5 nights at this lovely home with the most incredible views imaginable. Dan and Mitzi were so kind, pleasant and helpful in making the end of our 3 week adventures in NZ complete and soul enriching. We stayed in the heritage room and I strongly recommend this room because you are so comfortable and you are rewarded with a ridiculously adorable view of the chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and various birds in the area who are incredibly entertaining and the happiest creatures in a beautiful environment made just for them. The breakfast was a feast of goodness with homemade yogurt, jams, breads, etc. and made to order selections. The historic photos, local antiques and uniqueness of the historic building added to the remarkable experience. I cannot thank Dan enough for his guidance in making the best choices of incredible experiences for each day we were fortunately able to drive around the Queenstown area. A 5 star location in every way because you really do feel you are relaxing at home in the most amazing place with such warm and inviting hosts. Patrick H9. December, 2024.Verified Adorable B&B with fantastic hosts. The Ferry was one of the loveliest B&B's that we have ever stayed in. Our hosts Dan and Mitzi were fantastic. They made us so welcome and provided us with tips regarding things to do and see nearby. As my wife is gluten intolerant, Mitzi provided gluten free treats each evening. The building and decor is so lovely and quaint. There was a big stove burning in the living room and plenty of space to relax and chat other guests after a busy day. The breakfast was really delicious and perfectly cooked. Dan and Mitzi make a great team, working diligently together. The location is great but you do need a car. Thank you for a lovely stay, Folks. Hopefully we'll get a chance to visit New Zealand again and if so, The Ferry will definitely be on our accommodation list. Anouk11. November, 2024.Verified Very beautiful and clean B&B with great hosts! Stunning B&B 20 minutes from Queenstown! The Ferry B&B looks fantastic, it’s an historic building and the renovations and decorations have been done to honour that, it all looks amazing. Dan and Mitzi are very welcoming hosts and are always happy to help with any questions you might have. Breakfast is great as well and lots of options to choose from. Living room and a big kitchen is shared with other guests and you have your own spacious bedroom and super nice bathroom. I would definitely recommend this B&B to everyone, thanks again Dan&Mitzi! Aidan H4. May, 2024.Verified The best BnB we have ever stayed at The cutest Bed and Breakfast, with amazing hospitality from the hosts. My partner and I loved every minute, it was our favourite place we stayed during 6 weeks in New Zealand Kevin B25. March, 2024.Verified The Perfect Bed & Breakfast at Queenstown New Zealand ! This B&B is amazing! A beautiful historic home just across the street from a historic pedestrian bridge over the Shotover river close to Queenstown. The rooms have warm & inviting furnishings and a private bathroom. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Every day they served a savory breakfast and even provided one to go on a day that we were traveling early for a day trip to Milford Sound. A quiet location just a hundred yards from beautiful hiking trails along the river. Our four day stay was just too short. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to New Zealand! JMandTK13. March, 2024.Verified Stand-out accommodation in Queenstown During our 26 days staying at various facilities in the south island, The Ferry B&B was a standout. The breakfast was fantastic, including home-made bread and cooked-to-order items. Homemade goodies to come back to in the evenings was icing on the cake. The atmosphere was peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming. The decor respected the history of the building and area. Facilities were great; e.g. we were able to wash some clothes at no charge. The setting was picturesque. Location was great; it avoided the traffic congestion of Queenstown but everything was still just a quick drive away. Plus walking trails and a historic bridge were just out the door. The hosts have a passion for delivering good service. Bob P7. March, 2024.Verified What A Gem! Dan and Mitze have created a wonderful piece of paradise on the outskirts of Queenstown. The rooms are in great condition and the property is well cared for. There are only three rooms and Dan/Mitze live onsite. Linens were in great shape. Breakfast is a wonderful selection from their menu. There is fresh bread every morning. Eggs come from the chickens in the back yard. Dan was quite helpful in recommending that we do a River Jet Boat trip and meet them at their site, just a short drive away, rather than taking a bus from central Queenstown. Central Queenstown is just 15 minutes away. The airport is less than 10 minutes away. What a gem! ChauBella888. April, 2023.Verified Better than a 5 star hotel! My husband and I can honestly say this is the best accommodation/bed and breakfast we have ever stayed out throughout our lifetime of travels. We would choose to stay here over any 5-star hotel and we will definitely come back and book here again when we are back in Queenstown. The accommodation is gorgeous with great attention to detail with the decor. Smells divine and clean. We were welcomed with the fire burning, homemade treats, and fruitful conversations and the daily breakfasts were a work of art! Thank you so much Dan and Mitzi. It was an unforgettable stay!
